Taillight leakage .

I have the rear taillight condensing water drops in both my 17 Sierra SLT and 15 F150 Lariat .

Both are LED and both has a very minor crack on the surface which I assume it is the cause of the leakage but still functioning well , since there is a crack , warranty will not change it , I know from the net that superglue will not solve the issue , I am thinking of wrapping them with the clear protective wrap after removing the residual water condensation - from your experience , will this work ?

Both are expensive specially the ford as it has the blind spot radar on it .

Thanks .

Where is the crack? Right in the middle of the lens or near the edge? (i.e. a place that it would be tucked in under the body when all buttoned up) If it is at a place close to the seal, and aesthetics are not an issue because of that, then there are some options. But I am not sure about a wrap. Seems to me for anything like that to work you will have to wrap all the way around the whole surface of the light and use a heat shrink-wrap of some sort to try and seal it off. Sorry I can't be of more help.

This a picture from the ford as the Sierra is in service but the Sierra crack is little higher

Yeah, I would say you won't be able to seal that with superglue and won't be able to do anything to only that area without affecting the looks. You can try a heat shrink to seal but you will have to go all the way around the light or else the seal will never work. Even then, I am not sure if doing that will hold for a long time.
