1969 Camaro ZL1 A GM Legend

I grew up in Warren Michigan during the muscle car era.

1/4 mile and street racing. The smell of rubber, gas, oil and nitro.

Back then there was a local restaurant ( Big Boys, curb side service like Sonic today.) that was the weekend hot rod hang out in summer.

On a Saturday night you cruzed through looking for an open parking place to park. They enforced a time limit for parking.

There were some fast, beautiful cars. From stock to big money cars for that era.

I'm talking 9 second 1/4 mile, street driven cars.

9 second 1/4 mile times seems slow compared to today.

Not so slow when you consider Top Fuel was running in the 7 second bracket then.

I had a 1970 Nova, 350 that was my DD. On a good day (rare) I could break the 12 second bracket. Most 1/4 mile times were low to mid 12's.

At the time my family members had these cars that were DD with after market performance parts for racing.

Mustang

Buick Gran Sport

GTO

Camaro

Those were fun times and the reason my signature on this site is what it is.

I thought highlighting a factory muscle car from that era would be fun.

This came about after a TV program I watched.

This link is about the Camaro ZL1, a rare car.

Enjoy
