How does this stick on?

So the rubber boot fell off a while ago and I just tapped it back on a temporary. How do I permanently get it to stay on? I took a look at the one at the other door without pulling it but I just don't see how it works. Any help is appreciated.

It has to clip.on for the seal to work. I found it best to pull plug out. Disconnect plug then with small hook tool unclip small clips that hold the one in door. Pull it into the jam and reconnect the two harness ends then pull the rubber around the harness. Turn it and inspect it so you know it is wrapped up right. Then slowly and gently push the full assembly back into the door jam hole. 

Sound hard but one you do.it once you are a pro at it.

It is held in the door by 4 small clips on the side 2 on each side. Be careful they are delicate. And when installed gently and straight.
