vortec 6.0 into a 99 with a 5.7?

First post here. I was given a 2001 1500hd with a 6.0 and 166k miles. The body is real rough. Needs rockers, cab corners, fenders, bed, spring shackles, brake line, door handles. Someone local has a 1999 3500 dually with a 5.7 and 250k miles but the motor needs a little work. Can I swap the 6.0 into this truck or is it a really big project? Going to call my uncle who worked for a chevy dealer tomorrow and talk to him on it. I was told the 5.7 jumped timing but it has a lot of miles. I guess the trans in the 99 was replaced last year. What are my options?

is the 99 an Automatic or a manual. If its a Manual trans the swap will be easy. Still not to tuff if its auto but you will need to handle some wiring issues.
