Bench Seat ???

Hey all -

 

I posted on this in my first post but didn't get any nibbles, so I thought I'd give it another go. Is it possible to swap out the center '20' part of my front bench seat? Having the base model, I've got the viynl cloth combo withOUT the folding center. I'd really like the console and armrests of the folder. I tried to take just the seatback off - but it looks like two stell supports bars run the entire length of the seat. Can I have the dealer do this without getting bent over on the price?

You might be better off just buying a 40/20/40 split bench from a salvage yard. I don't really think you can change your seat into a "folder".

 

Buying a salvage yard seat, would give you the upper level LS cloth trim. The yard may even take your plain seat in on a partial trade... so it's worth a try IMO.

I don't know, the 40/20/40 seats do bolt to the floor in three seperate sections, at least on my truck, so there's a possibility (actaully a pretty goood chance) that what you want to do would work.

The problem with buying just the folding " /20/ " section is that it may not be available in the base interior trim or it could be difficult to locate...

I have the same seats and I hate it that the center seat will not fold down. The folding center "20" section was not available in the base model. I am going to upgrade to LS seats or buy the separate center console.
