Starting problem

Hey guys maybe someone can help me narrow this down, I got a 2004 GMC Sierra z71 5.3l. Anyways whenever I go to start it up I got power but won’t crank, but if I wait usually between 2 and 5 minutes with key in ignition it starts up, I tightened up my connections on battery and starter but still same thing. Anyone ever had this problem or know where to start checking? Thanks.

Just ran the same gauntlet on 04 Sierra. Only symptom difference was my problem was random. It would start 9 out of 10. Problem eventually got to every other driving me thru the following.

Changed relay, ignition control module, solonoid, cleaned keyway, etc, etc, etc.

Eventually, replaced the starter and problem solved
