Homelink when truck off

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the homelink buttons get disabled after the 19 trucks are off or for a period of time? Since I park in the driveway, I've been using a portable clicker for the garage. I don't want someone smashing the window to open the garage door. Our Honda homelink stays hot all the time, but we keep it in the garage. Does anyone know if homelink is wired for constant power or only ignition power on the 19 Silverado?

If your garage is connected to your house you should lock the door between the two regardless. Garage doors are not very secure, someone with the know how and a coat hanger can get in even when you are not home. If it is not connected to your house I would recommend getting an alarm system for the garage if your tools being stolen if what is worrying you. Just my $.02.
