bell tech carrier bearing housing

I have a 02 ext. cab. I lowered the rear 2 inches with shackels. Then I had 285/50/20 put on and every thing seems ok. I have had some people say I should have installed degree shims, or better yet the carrier bearing housing by belltech installed. Has any body else have this set up if so did you feel any diffrence or should I just leave it alone. Plus how do you if your drive line sits ok. I had one shop say looks pretty good just the way it is. Another said get the 2 degree shim, and yet as we were talking recommended the housing. Whats up? any help anybody?

if your not noticing any drivline vibrations then you prob. dont need to do any thing. Im afraid the bell tech kit would raise it to far if you only went down 2 inchs and shims would be the best way to go not to mention cheaper and alot easier to install the bearing relocator requires cutting and drilling to install. well there is my 2 cents. If you decide to go with the shims, which I agree is probably the best way to go, and cheapest. I know a guy that I can get you in touch with that makes shims for lifted and lowered applications. You can order them online. High quality stuff, known him for over 4 years. He's an engineer, so he knows what he's doing. Just let me know. He can make any degree shim you want, he'll also tell you how to measure it yourself. If it's too much or not enough, just send it back and he'll send you new ones. Excellent customer satisfaction and service! Chris

These are the links to the pics and then the description of the shims. The first link is to the standard 2" wide, up to 6" long. The second link is to the pic of the custom width up to 4" and 6" long. The third link is to the actual site where you can read about him and is products. You can contact him through his email. His name is Roger Brown, most of his products are for Toyota trucks and 4Runner's. But for shims, it's a universal application. Tell him that Chris B, aka 4x4Runner told you about him from the 4x4Wire.com Toyota site. I talked about a body lift from him a few years ago. He will help you out. Here is a link to FAQ about his shims http://4crawler.cruiserpages.com/4x4/ForSa...Shims.shtml#FAQ Chris

I just talked with him on some emails, he said no matter what you need, shims for lifted or lowered, he can get you what you need. I told him you might be contacting him.
