Installing New Fuel Pump

Well, I guess I am going to have to put a new fuel pump in my truck How diffacult is it to do and how long would it take? I am debating wether I should do it or have it done.

Get you a few friends to help you take off the bed (which is pretty easy something like 4 bolts and electrical wires). After the bed is off you have easy access to the fuel tank. All you need to do is take a screw driver and tap the ring fastener enough to line up the holes to be able to get it off. I help a buddy do it this way on his 96 and it seemed to work alot better than trying to drop the tank.

Don't even need to remove the bed completely. Remove all the bed bolts, remove filler neck hose to fuel tank, and tilt up on the left side of the bed and support it with some wood blocks.

That's right, what we usually do is move the bed back enough that you can see the pump and work on it easily. This usually has the front sitting on the tires and the back supported by a wooden block on the bumper.
