P0343 After Cam shaft sensor replacement.

I recently replaced my camshaft sensor in my 2003 silverado 5.3l. After the installation of new sensor my truck mad an odd noise upon initial start up. Check engine light came on and now I am showing come P0343 which is also related to the camshaft sensor that I just replaced. Could anyone tell me if I should possibly be looking for an electrical issue at this point? or is there a possibility that it was a bad sensor? I appreciate any help/response that I get.
