I have an 03 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab with a broken gauge cluster. I need to know if a 97 Silverado gauge cluster would work with mine. An usually what years are compatible with mine please an thank you.

Um no, a 1997 cluster will not work.

You need a 2003-2007 cluster for starters. Then you have to have it programmed with your mileage so that is stays accurate.

Or just send your cluster to be repaired instead of sourcing a new one.

A 97 cluster wont work. I think the only ones you can use is 03-06 but wont swear to that. Those years had bad stepper motors that you can have repaired.

Right around '03 is when GM switched up how a bunch of electrical & electronic stuff works, and I'm not sure if '03 stuff is grouped with '04-'07 or with '99-'02.  You might want to confirm which group it is.

One thing to note is that while you can swap in a cluster from another truck (from one of those groups), the IP itself is customized for your specific truck options, such as 4wd, dic controls, and noticing which "driver" you are, so you may find it better and cheaper to get your IP repaired, depending on what's wrong with it.
