Cranks over but doesnt start intermittenty

Hey guys been a gm auto tech for a long long time and i need some help i got a 

2004 chevy silverado 1500 2wd auto trans

With the vin t 5.3l 

Its a very intermittent no start. Cranks no problem, runs great the first time i could duplicate the problem all the time discovered that the camshaft position sensor was dead threw my tech2 then when replacing the sensor also discovered that the sensor connector was all jacked up too so replaced the connector with a pigtail great finished the job checked my work and couldn't duplicate the problem any more awesome customer happy 2 weeks later customer said it did it again but its now not as consistent as before i have the vehicle again and it will do it now for me about every 25 engine cranks so its even harder to duplicate any one have a real fix for this there is already new crank position sensor cam position sensor starters test good brand new battery and i know new means never been used when it comes to parts

Had the same problem with 2004 Sierra. 1/25 then eventually 1/12. Went through a lot of temporary parts. Ultimately fixed with! a new starter. Found the old starter had a dead spot. The impact of the solonoid would move the rotor enough to a "good" spot

Agree. Lots of bad starters have tested good on the bench.

Any luck?what else have you checked?noid on injector wires,when misbehaving?
