I come here bc ive not recieved any logical assistance from the silverado/sierra forum, but my question is, how tight should the tolerances be on the front cv axles? I know on most it should so minimal you shouldn't visually see it or feel it let alone hear it... I drive an 07 nnbs sierra z71, so how sloppy are the tolerances on the CV axles for these trucks?

I don't think they have a specific spec for something like that. There is bound be some movement just because of how the part is designed to function. When I worked in a shop I always caught myself yanking/pulling on them to check but rarely had one that moved more than a little bit, nor did the customers bring up a possible issue.

Is there problem you are having with them?

I mean could bit the bullet and just spend the $80-100 for a new axle, take it for a drive and see if it's any different being new.
