Allison Deep Pan Installed

I finally got around to installing my deep Allison pan this weekend. Turns out this is the pan the tranny was originally designed for, but GM commissioned the shallow pan for ground clearance issues on trucks.

Installation is super simple, but a bit messy. I did the swap and changed both filters in about 1 hour give or take a beer.

Overall I would rate the product a 10 since it has factory perfect fitment and is the part that should be there in the first place. I used the following Allison parts:

$45.45 Pan: 29536522

$33.04 Gasket: 29536526

$24.70 Filter-Suction, Deep: 29537966

$11.00 Spin on filter: 29537268

Cooling capacity goes up by 3qts. It took me 13qts total to reach the full mark when hot.

I'm really surprised but the tranny is running noticeably cooler. I didn't think it would make much difference, but the gauge shows 20' cooler than the same driving in the same weather as before.

I will towing my race car in two weeks, so I will have more feedback on temperatures then.
