1973 C60 wheel cylinder parts

Recommended Posts

Hello there fellow gear heads!

I am working on a 1973 C60 Wrecker truck and had to replace the rear wheel cylinders, the problem is that someone for what ever reason has been into these before and Hodgepodged together some brake shoe pins when one of the slotted tabs for the shoe broke off. I am having s heck of a time trying to find those specific pins to put in the new cylinders because they do not come with them. Does anyone on here know where I might be able to find them just shy of pulling apart a junk rear axle or having some cnc machined?

Would LMC have them? Truck companys like LMC may deal with them and help you out. Are they much different then regular truck brake pins? I would try Napa if LMC does not have them or in need yesterday for the parts. See if any different then regular truck pins. They may have been wrong all this time?

The idea of going to those places like " LMC" "NAPA" is all well and good for the 1/2ton - 3/4ton and some 1ton applications for the mainstream type of truck enthusiasts. However dealing with the larger scale trucks, I.e 2.5ton - 5ton like what I have take a different larger size set of cylinders. I may have to try and reach out to the axle manufacturers now that I am thinking about it. Companies like Eaton/Fuller, Spicer and rockwell. I have tried using an older system called "bendix" to try and source some older parts but haven't gotten to far just yet. These axle companies might have that old information I need on microfish which is a pain to get them to want to check out.
