Added Steering Wheel Audio Control, But Not Working

My 2018 Silverado came without  steering wheel audio controls.  I purchased the steering wheel switch and the harness and installed both, but it's not working.  The cruise control is working, so I think I installed everything correctly since they use the same harness.  Does anyone know what else I need to do?  Do I have to program the radio?  Also, I'm trying to add to the stock radio.

Is this in a WT?
Do you have the 4" screen?
May have to upgrade radio as well.

Have to add a wire from the clockspring to the harness behind the cluster I believe (don’t take my word percent)

The buttons on the right side won’t start working until the new cluster is installed and the radio controls won’t start until the new (io4,5,6) radio is installed. You have to run the cable eventually, but the stock WT radio and cluster doesn’t understand the commands that the wheel sends to it because they are not programmed to work with the wheel controls.

Have couple cluster even the regular Ltz/high country I guess you can say the 4in screen cluster for cheap if u decide not to go with Denali Cluster.
