2011 gmc sierra 4x4 z71 crew cab tire rub

I just bought a 2011 gmc sierra crew cab 4x4 crew cab. The previous owner put 20in moto metal wheels with 305/55/20 tires on it. They must have rubbed because he cut out the wheel wells behind the front tires and removed the mud flaps. They still rub on sharp turns but not bad. Would a leveling kit solve this problem? Would like to put new wheel wells and mud flaps back on.

Leveling the front may help but it's more down to the rims and tire combo if you don't want to lift the truck a few inches.

Those tires are only 33in tall, which is 1.3 inches larger than a factory set of 275/55/20's. So it's not a huge tire but the wheel offset also changed. So it's probably pushing the tire out further and with the 305's being over 1in wider this is why they rub.

Leveling kits are cheap so I'd try that, along with an alignment. If it still rubs you would need smaller tires if you want to keep those rims.
