1. Specifically what rearend do I have? I know the diff cover has 14 bolts but is it the 9.5" or the 10.5"?

2. what front diff do I have? I have no idea....only that its IFS.

I looked at the RPO codes and that didn't tell me what specifically, what it did say was (I think) the drivetrain was rated HD for 9,900lbs or something like that.

thanks

Take off your center caps on the rear end. If you have a hub sticking out you have the 14 Bolt FF 10.5 if not you have the 14 bolt 9.75"....you can also tell by how pointed the bottom of the pumpkin is.. the more point one is the 14 FF the more rounded 12 bolt looking is the 14 SF..

You have a 14bolt 9.5 rearend. I was trying to figure out mine and the I called the stealer and I gave the service guy my vin# and he told what i have. If you are still curious call the dealer and ask parts or service. good luck.

The 14 bolt semi floater is a fairly strong rearend. It was used on the light duty 3/4 ton trucks. I had a 99 chevy Z71 with the HD chassis package that came with the 9.5" 14 bolt semi floater. I think chevy uses it on trucks up to 8600 GVWR. It's a lot better better than the little 1/2 ton 8.5".

I have a 10.5" 14 bolt FF in my truck. As you can see from my sig, truck has a 5 spd stick in it. This is the only time a 8600#GVW 2500('99 to present ) will have such a rear end.
