1995 DRUM BRAKES

Anyone know the proper way to adjust rear drums on a 1995 4x4 1500 with 4 wheel ABS? Should they just have a slight drag?

I haven't done drums in quite some time, but as I recollect, you just get it as close as you can before putting the drums back on. Then when you get the wheels on, you have to drive in reverse, and hit the brakes a few times and they will "auto-adjust" to the correct place.

Take that with a grain of salt though, I may be a crack smoker.

Adjust the shoes until they are close to touching the drums. then the automatic adjusters will take care of the rest. Each time you backup and use the brakes to stop the adjusters will adjust the shoes to the proper clearance. If you leave to much clearance during the initial installation your brake pedal will go down quite a bit when you step on the brakes.

 Thanks guys. It sounds like they are the same as the old style without ABS. I cleaned and adjusted them after replacing my rotors and disks on front. Seems to stop fine. Now I need to have the fluid changed.
