Other Applications For The L8T 6.6L.

Any talk of other vehicles getting the 6.6L?  I have heard that the Silverado medium duty trucks will be getting a version of the 6.6L, and maybe some Isuzu/Chevy LCF models.  Will it eventually end up in the Express/Savanna?  Other OEM's?

Also wondering if we will see E85 or CNG/LNG versions of this engine.

Looks like the 6.6L gas is going in the 2020 4500 and 5500 LCF's later this year, and the Express/Savanna in 2021.  A version of the 6.6L gas is rumored for the 2021 Silverado 4500/5500/6500.

We have a 2015 or 2017 Isuzu box truck at work with the L96 6.0 and 6L90e transmission. The truck is a beast for power and get up and go but is the worst thing on fuel mileage it's not even funny. On a day without wind it's like 9-10mpg and with wind it's 7-8 for the most part. The fuel tank on the smaller ones is like 28-30 gallons too, sucks ass filling it twice a day.

I think the new 6.6 gas engine would help fuel mileage with the newer technology and if they put better rear end gears in those Isuzu's. Maybe they can be optioned with freeway gears but ours must have 4.56's or something because at 65mph it's humming at 2,400-2,500rpm.

If that brick could get 11-12 that would be pretty slick.
