Blindspot Trailer detection

Has anyone tried out the blindspot detection while trailering to see if the truck accounts for a trailer?

 

It seems odd to me that the trailering app does not allow you to input the length of trailer, similar to Ford (up to 33 feet).

 

If it doesn't account for the trailer length, seems like a huge oversight for a truck marketed so heavy to those who haul.

It doesn't.  In fact, you should be seeing messages on your DIC indicating that BSM and RCTA are disabled when you have a trailer plugged into your 7 pin.  At least they're supposed to be disabled.  Mine still work, even after I see the messages indicating they are disabled, so I'll need to have the dealer look at it.

 

Personally, I don't see the need for BSM accounting for the trailer.  You should be able to see any traffic that far back in your mirror.  BSM is for your blind spot.

Agreed BSM is for your blindspot but with longer trailers it'd be a nice feature to alleviate uncertainty in gap for lane changes during heavy traffic. I've only used a 4-pin so far and BSM seemed to be still active, around corners it would recognize the trailer as a vehicle.

Let me know if you take it to the dealership, if they have a fix for it not fully deactivating on hook-up.

I have trailer hooked up all summer (landscaper) and just shut off blindspot as it goes off all the time sometimes both are lit up at the same time even, like above when trailer plugged in dash says disabled but it is not until i have gone into the settings and manually disable
