4.3L engine swap

Can anyone tell me if I can replace the 4.3L in my 96 Cheyenne with a 4.3L engine from a 2001 truck without any major adaptations? Will the wiring harness and computer from my 96 make everything on the 2001 engine work? Thanks Wes

Read that wiki page for more information. Basically from the looks of it the 1996-2001 engines are the same but with minor differences in the fuel system and such. The long block itself should swap over with your top end parts.
