Help me hack chronic door sag

I love late 90's suburbans. They are cheap as can be, run forever, and are easy to repair.

 

The thing I hate about them is door sag. I drive off-road about as much as on-road... a lot. It absolutely kills the door bushings. I replace them twice a year or more. It kills me.

 

So... has anyone hacked Chevy door sag? I am happy to screw plastic shims under the doors themselves, or to the frame to support the doors... or anything. It doesn't need to be pretty.

 

Anyone have any experience in this?

Just a thought... is it the pin that goes bad or the bushing?

Yeah, not the pin. The bushings. they just get eaten up because of all the vibration in the door.

Go with brass bushings and adjust the sticker plate.
