Just picked up my very first GM product!!!! We have always bleeded blue, that was until friday when we picked up our GMC.

My wife was driving our '01 F250 Powerstroke on the ninth and she just pulled out of our subdivision and it started to rain. The truck had Firestone Steeltec tires...never again will I ever buy those tire!!! Anyway she started fish tailing down a steep hill and then slid off the road and down a 60' embankment. Rolling the truck over one and quarter times...the roof V'd in at the driver's seat, she needed two surgeries and totaling were guessing over 500 stiches in her head and face....the GOOD news is she is going to be alright!!!!! Thank God!!!!

Our Ford F250, winner of July/August '02 "Boating Life" "Rig of the Month" was totaled  When something like this happens you really find out what friends you really do have! Once the news got around a friend of ours (with GM) told us what to do and were to go..his help saved us thousands!!! It turned out to be savings that were could not pass up and really needed at the this time.

So, there you have it we have fallin' in love with our GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax!! :dunno:

Yeah, some are alright...they have let me stay here for over two years and 4K posts now.

Sorry to hear about your truck, but I am glad that your wife is OK, and that is what is really important.

I am another Ford convert here, well I still have it (Mustang) welcome to the site! My family and friends couldn't believe it when I told them I drive a Chevy now. I had been preaching the greatness of the blue oval for about 18 years. Welcome to the site!!

Good news about your wife, glad to hear it..

Welcome,

First off, thank God your wife will be OK!

I'm fairly new here myself... I've owned two Fords in my day... An '82 Mustang GT 302. that sort of got hot rodded. By the time I sold it, it had some where in the area of 400HP, a full cage, tubs etc... After it was a bit too crazy for the street, I towed it to the track with a '77 Chevy! Next Ford we bought was a '93 T-Bird. A beauty of a car, but a total piece of crap mechanically! Since then it's been Chevy all the way!

Drove the '77 daily until I bought a '91 Burb. Then my '02 Z71 Silverado...

Oh well, you didn't ask for my BIO....

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!! And yes the important thing is that my wife is ok.

I went to my ford dealer today and broke the news...My good friend that manages the parts department came out and said, "I thought your wife was the one with the head injury!" I let him drive it...first Duramax that he was behind the wheel and said he liked it. He also said he could not in good conscious recomend the 6.0 Powerstroke to any of his friends. That made me feel better about new GMC addition.

We washed and waxed her for the first time today....and it feel like I am cheating on the Ford...I been with my two Super Dutys since '99. I guess I'll get over it, if not I am sure these is medication for this. :dunno::mad::mad:

I cringed when I read the description of your wifes accident, Glad she will be OK.

How many times have I heard the other words you wrote before.

"Piece of crap", seems to define ford engineering.
