pknowles
I just bought my first Chevy truck and I absolutly love it, a 97 Chevy C2500. The truck has the original factory AM/FM Cassette and I want to upgrade to a CD player and don't care about keeping the tape player. I was thinking if I could use factory CD player out of a Camaro or a newer truck would it be a plug and play kind of install. I'm willing to do some wiring if I need to but factory units are cheap and if all the connectors are the same that would be another reason to use a factory player. Thanks for any help you can give me. Phil K.
chevy4x4trucks
If you snag one from a newer truck it should be plug and play.
gromage1
Give Crutchfield a call, they'll hook you with everything you need. I've always had great luck with there customer service/tech guy's.
Markeaux
I would ask the guys over at www.radiosandmore.com first, even if you don't buy from them. I see they don't list any gm replacements for 97, yet do for later so there may be differences between obs and nbs.
