Nitto Tires

I have a stock height 2001 Z71. I am looking at putting some 18's on it with Nitto Terra Grappler tires. I currently have some Bridgestone Dueler 285/75/16's on the stock rims and they fit fine with no rubbing. My torsion bars have never been moved.

Nitto offers two sizes that I like:

285/60R18 Which is about a 31.4x11.5

325/60R18 32.99x12.83

Can I fit the 33's? I'd be willing to slightly modify the torsion bars and/or airdam. Anyone have any experience with tire sizes like this? Thanks.

Well your current 285's measure 32.83 x 11.22 so I don't see why the 285/60/18 wouldn't work.

But the other size might worry me a little. It's almost the same height, but the width is quite a bit more. You can probably stuff those in the rear with no probs, but I think you will get some rub up front. Although I'm not a fan of mixed tire sizes, you could stag them with the 325's in back and the 285's in front. Depends on the look you are trying to get.

Don't put tires that are different heights on the front and rear of a 4x4. You could bind up your transfer case and break something.

I am fully aware that a 4x4 requires the exact same tire size at all four corners. Come on...give me a little credit. Anyway, how big of a tire can you fit on a stock Z71 (height and width)? I would probably be willing to crank the torsion bars slightly if I needed to. Thanks.
