 I ran out of gas a week ago in my Blazer. After it happen it didn't run right. I changed the fuel filter and still I have no take off power. I would like to know if anyone got any ideas on what is going on. Could it be the filter in the gas tank with crap in it? Thanks

It could be a weak fuel pump, being an 87 it should be fuel injected, right? If so the pump is in the tank.

In tank pumps are cooled by the fuel in the tank and can overheat if run out of fuel.

Papatitis is right, you could have damaged the pump by overheating it. There is also a small screen on the inlet of the fuel pump. It could be posible that when you run the tank dry, you could have sucks the small screen up into the pump, partially blocking the pump inlet. You should test the fuel pressure to be sure. Either way, you will have to drop the tank.

It's not that hard of job on a Blazer. Just make sure the tank is as low as possible when you do it. A full tank of fuel in that year Blazer weighs about 200lbs.
