Running board light kit

I just installed an LED light kit above my running boards. These had lights for the turn signals, running/parking lights and courtesy lights that come on when the doors are opened. I thought I hooked everything up correctly. The turn signal and courtesy light wires went to the BCM connectors under the dash. Black and brown connectors for the turn signals and the gray connector for the courtesy lights. I'm pretty sure that I got these correct. However, I could not find a wire in the BCM connectors that came on with the running lights. So I ran the wires up front and spliced into a wire in a harness connected to both head/parking lights. This wire had power when the switch was turned on and no power with the switch off. After I hooked it all up it appeared to be working like it should. Except at night when the automatic headlights come on, it turns my interior lights on. They will turn off if I turn off the switch but so do the headlights and running lights. If I disconnect either of the wires for the running lights or the courtesy lights the problem goes away. So where did I go wrong?

Can anyone help me with this?

Have you checked with the company that made the kit, or gone on their website to see if others have had similar problems?

Maybe be more specific letting us know who makes the kit. You may be the lucky only one that has used this company, so replies might be few.

There are different people/manufactures on the site that can help if they know what they are dealing with.
