2006 Duramax 3500 Dually

Recommended Posts

The front passenger wheel bearing keeps failing - getting it replaced for the 4th time next week. It goes every month or so. The mechanic says the parts are just a bad quality, and I only have to pay labour as the bearings are still under warranty, but $100 every 2 months is getting tiresome.  Anyone have this issue or know how to resolve it ?

There's something being missed IMO.

Go to a different shop.

Ask what brand parts are being used and demand different one.

OEM or Nappa would be my choice.

Yeah, there's something really wrong there, as no manufacturer could afford that poor quality product.  To get 3 bad ones in a row has to be extremely unlikely.

I would examine the components of that corner, like bad ball joints, or the hub doesn't quite mount up correctly with the spindle (say, rust or something preventing it from doing so), or the camber or toein is off a lot.

That said, it's my understanding that GM just rebranded Timken's, and that's what I put on my truck a couple months back.
