7T6 Fuel Tank Tap option

Hello all.

 

I recently bought a new 2003 Chevy Exoress van for my Carpet Cleaning business and truck mounted equipment.

 

I first noticed the problem when my truck mount was first installed and I went to put gas in the van but the gas pump kept shutting down.

 

Come to find out Chevy has started putting smaller Fuel Filler necks in their vans (Used to be 2" now they are using 1")

 

Due to the smaller size...it is causing the gas to back up the filler neck and shut the pump down where they had to tap into the neck for my truck mount.

 

My installer found a press release from https://www.gmupfitter.com/secure/html/ article #67 where they started doing this on 2004 vans...but he said this was definitely the issue with mine as well.

 

The press release says I need the optional 7T6 Auxillary Fuel Tap installed but I found that this is a factory installed option.

 

I was NOT made aware of this nor does my dealership know of such a part. They WERE well aware of what I was using the van for and it was never recommended to me, etc.

 

PLEASE help!! It takes me 15 min to even get 1/2 tank of gas...
