Ideeho Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I have a local shop, who mandrel bends their own pipes, and they highly recommend Flow Pro mufflers for their setups. I have heard some trucks they have done, and they sound great as well as have slight increases in some low end torque, however am the eternal skeptic when it comes to something I know little about. Anyone use Flow Pro at all?
Black03SS_NJ Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 There has been a lot of discussion about them on the SS forum. There is a rep from pro-flo who is a member over there, so you could contact him if you like. One SS member installed a pro-flo (MX series?) dual in/dual out and had it removed because it was so loud. It was replaced with another pro-flo dual in/dual out made especially for the 6.0L/8.1L and he was very happy. I have not personally used or heard pro-flo, but I would recommend them based on all I have read. The only downside that I see is the price...they run $225+ and they are not stainless. That's more than 2x the price of a comperable flowmaster, but some say its worth it.
MrFleming007 Posted November 8, 2003 Posted November 8, 2003 I ran a flo~pro on my '90 k5 blazer for a few years and LOVED it.... very deep throaty rumble, LOUD at WOT, and at highway speeds I could barely hear it at all.

I know quality sound and keeping (or gaining) of low end torque is important...but again WOW. How much is your shop quoting to run this setup?
Ideeho Posted November 8, 2003 Author Posted November 8, 2003 I have been quoted out the door with all materials tax and everything with one pipe out each side behind the rear tires, at $335 Not a bad gig for this local shop. Considering it's a minimum $430 to get Gibsons on. I am going to give it a whirl, see how it turns out.
