Tuner options

So the last I knew they still did not have tuner out for the new computer systems in the 2019+ new body.

 

If this has changed has anyone used one? If so what's your brand/model of choice. I'm looking to get some more pep out of the truck as well as calibrate my speedometer due to now running 33" tires.

 

I've seen a lot of people I follow on YouTube (dmaxryno, Eddie's life, durtymax Jack) all run the edge system.

HP Tuners is your only option for an actual tuner right now.

 

Minimum buy in for one of those is $1,900 because you have to buy an unlocked computer plus the credits to unlock the computer for tuning. And if you don't own HP Tuners it's another $300 for that device.

 

The best part is that you completely void your warranty in the process. So is it worth that amount of money for minimal gains?

 

Also HP Tuners is a do it yourself tuner, you must learn how to tune and understand the logic of the factory computer. The 2019+ are the most advanced V8 computers out there right now and for anyone that has never done anything like this before it would be a struggle to grasp any of it. I've been doing this for over 8 years now and I learned on the 1999-2007 body style trucks first and every generation of truck got more advanced and it was new stuff to learn each time.

 

 

I'm not sure there if there anything on the market for just changing the tire size to correct the speedo though, never looked into that.

That's all I've seen as well sadly. I don't want to run any of that risk haha. The last tuning system I used with hondata/kpro [emoji23][emoji23].

What about reprogramming for tire size ? Nothing worthy out there for a decent price?

Dealer can reprogram for tire size. They do it with the trail boss lift kit. I'm sure it's available a la carte.
