burb_n_coach Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 First of all I'd like to say i have viewed this site for a few months and have seen alot of good information on here. I now have a problem that i have found no answers to. I'm currently working on my sons 89 s15 jimmy 4.3 tbi. We bought this with a bad motor and installed a donor. The engine starts fine and runs strong considering the injectors are not misting, but putting out more like a rain forrest..(exhaust is very rich with soot). This was a problem with the preprevious owner i later found out. The tbi has new injectors, o rings ect. new o2, egr and various other sensors. Am i right in thinking this a fuel pressure issue? The pump works and cuts out with key in on. Maybe plugged filter? (still working on the michigan salted fittings) Any comments are most welcome. Thanks
burb_n_coach Posted November 18, 2003 Author Posted November 18, 2003 ok, day three of useing penitrating fluid on the fuel filter lines. The engine control unit (module) trigger for the injectors seems to be working fine and i have 12.92 volts showing at the injector(little shy of the 13.8) I'm in the process of trying to come up with the fittings needed to check the fuel pressure. I am also wondering if anyone knows where i might find a flow chart or ladder diagram of the electrical systems used in the tbi vehicles.
