OK-we all know the paint on the newer trucks stink and is prone to chipping. I am wondering how many of you have been successful in getting your hood repainted under the 3 year factory warranty? If so-did you take it back to the dealer you bought it from? And what did you say to have them warranty a repaint?

BTW-I have a 2018 Silverado LTZ. It seems the paint should be better for a truck that  at $54,000.00 MSRP!

I do not think it makes a difference in the price or trim level when they are being painted. All go through the same paint both with the same amount of paint being used.

As far as the repaint, what type of relationship do you have with the service (maybe body shop) manager? They would probably have to be the ones to sign off on a new coat of paint.

I don't have a relationship with the Body Shop people at any one particular dealership. That's kind of why I'm asking on here.  BTW-the paint of my wife's 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe XL is better-and it had a MSRP that was $20,000.00 less.

Good to know about the Hyundai. At least someone is using a decent paint.

Good luck with the replies.
