Hoping another member can clarify this question for me.

The other day I was washing my truck and the side mirror LED's came on and they stayed on for quite a long time until eventually turning off.  This has never happened before.  I thought at first I didn't close a door properly, or left something turned on but that was not the case.

The only thing I did differently than my normal wash routine was dropping the tailgate at one point.  Can anyone confirm that this leads to the side mirror LEDs coming on ?

The only thing i do when washing is locking my power running boards in the extended position, but I do that every time without ever having the mirror lights come on so I'm associating it with the tailgate.  I called my guy at the dealership who had no answers for me, was just as confused as I was and only thing he could come up with is that "you set off some sort of sequence by what you did that initiated the LED's to come on"  That still does not make sense to me.

Anyone who can shed some light on this for me I would greatly appreciate.

Are you sure that you didn't accidentally hit the "Task Light" on button?

keys were not on me, and nothing was touched in truck.

I feel that my friend at dealership is right, must have been a sequence I did that set it off.  I'll have to test out my theory next wash.  The side mirrors were on for 20+mins which is very long and unusual
