my new google pixel 4a just updated to Android 11 and they are bragging how Android auto will no longer need to be connected via USB cable and of course it doesn't work on my 2018 silverado. Am I missing a setting or is there a trick to get it to work without the wire? Its not the most horrible thing having to use the wire but it would be great to be able to do away with it.

I think there's a hardware requirement on the radio-side to support that.  I saw an article yesterday saying some guys are putting together something to work as an adapter for "most radios".

You'll need the newest HMI found in the new trucks.  Not sure if it's possible.
