Ok, so I’ve been doing some research for a couple days on this subject but I’m not sure if anyone has tried to do exactly what I’m trying to do(or even if it can be done simply).

I just bought a 2017 GMC Sierra Elevation Base model. The steering wheel has controls for the cruse control but not the audio controls. I would like to add a steering wheel with the audio controls. Is this as easy as just pulling the old wheel, and putting on the new wheel, and plugging into the existing wiring harness? I’m not trying to swap out the dash instruments cluster or anything, just the steering wheel.

On my 2017 the audio controls are on back of steering wheel opposite the DIC and Cruise controls on front of steering wheel pads.

Yeah...and I’m trying to find out if I can just swap out my steering wheel for a wheel with those buttons or if it’s more complicated than that .
