Odometer "gets stuck"...

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've noticed that my odometer (not sure it's called odometer, but I hope you understand what I meen) doesn't go all the way down when I stop. When I first saw the truck if was stuck on like 35 mph, but the dealer fixed it before I bought it. Now the problem seems to come back. Is there anyone with the same problem or anyone that knows what could be wrong?

Well I don't have the problem, but I can tell you that you are refering to your speedometer, not your odometer. Your speedometer measures your speed, your odometer measures your mileage. I can only speculate that the there is some kind of added friction or something in speedometer needle that may be keeping it from coming down all the way, but I'm honestly not sure of the mechanics behind it since I'm not sure if the needle is controled electrically or mechanically. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Seeing that the truck is brand new, the dealer should probably replace the whole gage cluster for you... This is not a problem that you want to come back 5 years from now when your warranty is expired.
