So basically trying to make my truck sound good and loud but not obnoxious. Currently have the OEM muffler swapped with a flowmaster super 40 and the resonator left on, its still too quiet, there's a bit of rumble but not much. Not sure how restrictive the resonator is? So I'm wondering if I should keep the super 40 on and delete the resonator or say **** it, straight pipe it and resonator on? I know this topic is beat to death but I haven't found the answer I'm looking for yet, appreciate any help or sound clips on setups

You can see that aftermarket cat back setups delete the resonator behind the muffler. In my opinion they are still quiet, especially during cruising which is how they are designed. I say this owning a corsa sport.

You might as well pull the muffler off and go around the block to see if straight pipe is what you want.

Otherwise just delete the resonator to sound like a typical cat back setup.

If you decide to do headers down the road, you’ll likely want to still have the resonator.

40 and delete the resonator. My neighbor has this. Single into the 40 dual out. Not loud. Just right in terms of tolerable exhaust. You wont be hated by the neighbors in the am.

I agree. I love the Borla exhaust I put on, but at first my neighbors hated it. They have since gotten use to it and don't mind it now.

Which borla did you go with again?

Ah yea thats night and day in terms of how loud the two are. The atak is closer to straight pipes. Sorta. But freakin sounds awesome!!!. The 40 is like hey he's got a muffler and it sounds tame but great.

After all the exhaust mod's, did it improve the performance any? if so, bottom end , top end , or both?

I ask cause I own a 2018 chevy short bed 5.3 L.
