Dad...yet again

In another stroke of brilliance that is my dad's later years, he decided to get the carwash/detailing center assistant manger's day off to a great start yesterday. I show up to give him a ride. Now apparently he had met with this guy who was the manager and walked around the car pointing out what areas were scratched and what spots on the seats/carpet needed treatment during the detailing. Well this woman told my dad that the carpet work wasn't included and would be extra. Mind you, dad was sitting outside from at least 7:45...place opens at 8(this is his usual fashion to be overly early), so I'm sure the girl was pissed to have someone waiting already to start her day. So upon my arrival and him finding out about a possible increase in price he decides to ask, "Do you have your gun?" Which totally makes the already angry girl even more angry, and she replies, "that's not something to say."

So the manger guy shows up and walks the car again and all is about as well as could be expected. Dad feels bad and during our shopping for party supplies, he picks up some chocolate for the lady. He goes to pickup the Buick later and gives her the chocolate and apologizes for his stupid comment(I had scolded him for his stupidity of course). She then tells him that she was at Columbine.

Lesson learned, think before talking...I guess she also gave him some discount on the bill in the end.
