2020 2500HD Silverado Feels like its surging when towing uphill

I have a 2020 2500 silverado with 6.6L Gas. When towing my car trailer or fifth wheel and going up hill it feels like its surging. The Tach looks solid. Problem is worse when having tow haul mode on. As it keeps RPM higher. Trailers when loaded are between 5k-9k. Anyone experience this issue?

I noticed it too. For me as I haven’t towed or hauled heavy yet it seems right around 1450-1600rpm, part throttle, in normal drive mode When climbing a hill. The gear doesn’t seem to matter either.
 

I put a louder muffler on and you can actually hear it. I believe that rpm range is right around lock up for the converter so I wonder if it’s not just locking/unlocking constantly instead of just downshifting.

mine does it. just a certain rpm range and at about 60 mph. my ram did it too. there is a mountain highway by me, every time i drive that road, i can reproduce the surge. both trucks. only notice it on that road

i am pretty sure it is the torque converter locking and unlocking. i have found dropping a gear or just leaving it in 8, gets rid of it
