Ravenkeeper Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 I think I know where this is going to go. Wanting to get some other opinions/ideas. I left work, last night, drove 5 miles, shut it off, ran inside my wife's work to grab something, started it back up, drove 2 miles to base gas station, shut it off, got gas, cranked back up, drove another 6 miles, shut it off again (Security Forces locked the gates, alarm was going off somewhere on base), and after sitting for about 10 minutes I got an error message of sorts on my DIC, "Battery LOW, Start Vehicle." I immediately tried to start it, NOTHING!!! Jumped out and asked the guy in the truck next to me for a jump. Made two attempts to start before SF started letting traffic flow off base. The guy drove up a ways, turned around and parked nose to nose with my truck. We must have tried about 20 times to start my truck. It started, and I drove almost 12 miles to home. I'm thinking that all of those starts/stops, plus sitting there with my PARKs on and listening to the radio, caused the low battery issue. I've done the same thing before, even sat longer at the gate, with NO problems. Thoughts/Opinions? Quote

BUT THEN TODAY, while I was running a few errands for my wife, I got to the first stop of about 3 stops, went inside shipped a few returns, came back out to the truck, tried to start it, AND NOTHING (not even clicking). Battery failed , under warranty . AAA came out, jump started my truck, and I drove it to the dealership, .6 miles from where I was, and they are working it and doing an oil change. When I parked it at the dealership, 28,000.6 (TRIP B has NEVER been reset). Hopefully, I get to pick her back up before work tomorrow. I was looking at staying home today, but I stole my wife's SUV, after we got home and ate a late lunch, and rolled to work. Maybe they'll give her the bath that I forgot to do on my way home Friday night? Quote
