I need some help trying to figure out an issue with a problem that might be the battery or connection. I got a new battery a few months back and every so often my truck won't turn over like the battery is dead but eventually turns over after about 5 minutes of trying. This happens maybe once a month so not often, but definitely enough to be an issue. I've had the battery checked and I've checked all the connections and everything looks good. I'm stumped as to what could be the issue so anything would be helpful.

On the GMT-900s (previous gen from yours) The negative battery cable was often the culprit for random things like you are describing or when everything goes dead all of the sudden when driving along.  Question-  Do your lights in the cluster come on when you turn your key to the on position?  Or is it completely dead?  If it is completely dead, then the negative battery cable thing points in that direction.  But if you are getting the lights on but just no cranking at all, then yup, need to check that starter.  And re-check the check the cables to the starter.
