2020 crew cab LT Trail boss 6.2 packages what did you find?

I purchased my 2020 Trail boss LT crew cab 6.2 (build date 7/20) and it came from dealer with performance pkg (Cat back exhaust & Cold air intake) this rated my truck at 435hp & 469lbs. This pkg was an added bonus I was only looking for 6.2 w/10spd trans but happened on this truck and the dealer had 2 of them both blacked out but had to drive to their other dealership which took like 6hrs but worth the hassles.  I have not seen many 6.2’s and was wondering if anyone else found this truck with the performance upgrades? I waited for over a year till 2020 for the 6.2. It is huge difference.  My wife’s Tahoe has the 5.3 and it is nice but I am so glad I waited for the 6.2 couldn’t be happier what a beast!

I am looking for

1. tuner for these trucks I want to be able to adjust speed limiter, fuel octane tuning etc. I had a SCTx4 on my Raptor that I traded in for the Trail boss 

 

2. looking to lift additional 2-3” Ready lift or Rough country kits I have seen but not happy with either so far.

 

** if anyone has experience with tuner, lift, upgradeswould be appreciated

I also had to wait to get my TB, mainly because of how picky I was with what I wanted; I wanted the 6.2L, north sky blue, crew cab, standard bed, sunroof, and a few others. I bought it sight unseen, I test drove white 5.3l and then bought this one. Waited about 3 weeks to finally get delivered and love it all. It doesn't have the performance package but I do plan on added a cold air intake shortly. I've talked quite a few guys on Instagram that are running the RC 2" SST kit and they are really happy with it so I'm leaning towards that kit within the few months.

What wheels did you get 18’s or 20’s? I am very happy I waited for 6.2 and the performance pkg was huge bonus I was not expecting. I think I did well out the door $52,000. Mainly because my son works at GM do I got the family voucher for aprox $6,000 and $5500 GM discount running at the time. I do think they did not know the truck they had since it came from another dealership and picked it up at the end of the day after 5:30pm so it slipped through their hands. Maybe these trucks were special ordered by manager who knows since I have not seen another, dealership where I took it for 1st service called it a “ UNICORN” funny lol. But I am going for that 2” lift from  ready lift SST

When considering a level versus a lift - just know that your TB already is 2" lifted stock - so adding RL SST 2" level kit will take you over 4" of lift - which will not give you the best CV axel angles (see photo below).  Also with RL SST level Ready Lift has a note and do not recommend use of "auto 4WD" so you lose that feature on your truck - due to CV angles putting lot of stress on front diff shifting on the fly.

 

You are better off to go with a proper lift from BDS, Zone, Icon, Rough Country - that drop the front diff.  You will spend twice as much (excluding shocks) as a level - but you will have proper CV angles.  Everything has its trade off's.   IF you level I would recommend you go with 1.75" or less (keeping you below 4" total).

 

I had a 2019 AT4 and went with RL 2" SST level - found out about not being able to use auto 4WD after the fact - learned about axel angles - had no issues in 10k miles.  Traded it for a 2020 AT4 with to mirrors (wanted tow mirror and trailer camera tech).  Did BDS 2.5" lift kit - CV axels are pretty much level (better than stock).    Only downside is dropping the diff, does reduced front ground clearance to the front diff the same about (about 2" from 10" to 8").  But you can run larger tires to get that back.

 

I have 6.2 with 10 speed and performance pack from factory and could not be happier with that package!   Well worth the extra dollars over the 5.3l if you will be towing.

We’re you able to keep 18’s with the BDS? Very nice truck love these. I really love my ride and will not do anything that causes loss  of my 4-auto. I think I will look at other ways to lift not an end all. Definitely want to tune it for multiple reasons. I had the SCTx4 on my Raptor and looking for a tuner similar for my TB. Beautiful truck!

When I got my truck it didn't have the intake and exhaust, but I had them added to the deal. Parts were in my garage a week before the truck arrived.
