I went to my local dealership about a month ago to have them look at the rear park assist.  I am told they updated the park assist module; however, they needed to replace 3 of the 4 sensors.  (@$250 each). I declined the repair, only to reach out to a GMC parts place and get the sensors myself and put them in.  I disconnected the battery and replaced all 4 sensors.  I plugged the battery back in and to my suprise it was working until I go to put in reverse and then it stopped beeping only to display “Service park assist” again.  I go to the dealer this morning and explained how this still doesn’t work.  They tell me the new sensors need to be “woke up”, they were never meant to be installed in a driveway.

I have 15 years working in the industry for a different manufacture and clearly not sure if this is a real thing or not.  I have scoured the service manual with nothing regarding this either.  Can someone shed some light on this for me??

I changed mine with a set I ordered off of rock auto and they work fine. The only issue I have is when driving through town when I hit 10mph accelerating or decelerating I get the service park assist message. It’s driving me nuts I can’t find any info on it.
