Wanting to confirm my motor type

I've attached a pic of my VIN I was hoping to have someone verify my type of motor and possibly suggest a place to get parts, I've removed all the heads/lifters/VLOM.  Was planning on replacing VLOM, lifters/followers/trays, gaskets and head cover on drivers side for the oil consumption issue.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you are right. That VIN is for a 2008 Sierra with a iron block AFM engine (LH6). The LY5, LMG and LC9 were the other engines offered with AFM depending on year and if it was aluminum or iron.

 

The dealership would be able to get you all new OEM parts with your VIN.

 

Your other option is to source new OEM parts from other retailers like Summit Racing, Rockauto or other similar places. You already know what parts you want to buy so it's just a matter of looking for them, putting them in a cart and buying them.
