Max spare tire size???

Hello all, I recently purchased a 2020 2500 Duramax that has 35x12.5r17 tires installed. I use the truck for work and really want a full sized spare as the current spare is only a 245/75r17. I was wondering what the max tire size is that could fit in the factory location. Any idea?  If necessary I can put it in the bed under my tonneau cover. Thanks guys.

i have heard some are able to squeeze a 37 up there. I think a 35 fits fine

The largest standard road size fits and after that you will need to modify the heat shield some.  If you get too large, you may damage your spare due to be too close to exhaust.
