Took my 2015 4.3 silverado in to have the oil control solenoid replaced. Had to wait a full week before part showed up at the dealership. Once part arrived they waited three more days to start on the repair, which takes 8 to 10 service hours. The truck has been in the dealership for 15 days now. Today I was informed that the instrument cluster won't turn on. Would having the battery unplugged for that long cause this problem or if something was plugged back in wrong? I haven't gotten any answers from their service department. I found out through the parts department that this is a problem. What's your take on this?

They said it happened when they put the battery back in. They have to order a new cluster because it won't turn on. It will be December before a new one gets here. I am not a happy camper with this dealership.

I would get in contact with the dealerships district service manager. The person that oversees the area's dealerships. See if they can or will do anything to help. Or contact Chevy's customer service department and complain.

Here's one. You would need to get it programmed to your truck. No biggie. I wouldn't be waiting until December for anything.  Except Santa Claus

I had their parts department order a junk yard one that came in today. They are installing it. They wanted me to pay for the mistake and I am refusing to do so. There was not a problem until they hooked it back up. They've had my truck for 3 plus weeks, now. Thanks for the comments.
