ABS module

I was wondering how long it was gonna take for my abs module to die and it finnally happend the other night with 75k on the truck.

Came home from a friends house with the abs light on, turned off the truck and the little motor kept running. Pulled the 60amp fuse and have been driving around with the ABS and BRAKE light on ever since.

Oh well, the abs was too sensitive for me anyways. I probably fix it before I sell it.

I guess I need to break out the electical tape for those d**n lights.

Usually a front wheel speed sensor ring or the rear tailshaft VSS will fail before the ABS module. It helps if you regularly flush/bleed your brake fluid.

You will need an appropriate scan tool to see what codes are stored. The OTC Tech2 is the factory-approved scantool, the OTC Genisys will also work. Not sure about Autotap or the rest.

I've only had my ABS engage on glare ice or very loose gravel roads.

Check on e-bay, there was a guy fixing the abs module for about $100 i think. Had great feedback!

Thanks. I'll check into it. I've heard that this is very common on 99's
