Power Pulleys???

Ok, thought about upgrading the power pulleys on my new 04 5.3 Sierra. I know one of the pros is a gain in power. What is the downside to these pulleys? I was looking on truckperformance.com and they did not have any pulleys for my 04 though. Anyone know where I can look at some?

I too have been looking for some pulleys for my 03 silverado. I had a Under-drive crank pulley on my 92 z34 and wow what a diffrence BUT if you had a lot on ie. fan on high, headlights, rear window defoger, radio you could see the volts go down.

ASP makes pulleys for GM vehicles. I installed crank pulley only, on my '03 Avalanche. Man, what a difference in low end torque! Fuel economy went up almost 1mpg!

 

Negative is that full current is not produced until 800 rpm. To compensate, I run A/C in recirc and if I expect to be sitting in traffic for awhile I shift transmission into neutral. If anyone is experiencing symptoms other than while idling, then a close look at alternator and battery is in order. My own experience in this area would indicate a failing battery, but both should be checked.
